O corpo é que paga, the body is paying

Can you promise me something? It’s not huge, I swear. It will barely even take ten minutes of your life. Do you want to know what it is, before you promise? Okay, I can do that.

Watch this video. You only have to watch it once, but if you could listen to the song three times, I think it would do us both a world of good:

It’s one of the catchiest songs I’ve found in a long time, called, “O corpo é que paga,” which roughly means, “the body is paying.” It’s from 1983! And look at how he’s bleached his moustache and soulpatch, but not the rest of his beard. That’s António Variações. He’s from Portugal! And is singing in Portuguese! He was also one of the early casualties of AIDS, and passed away a year after this song, in 1984. : (

But this song is great! Isn’t it? Do you love it? I love it.
